Bayer Leverkusen have signed Iran international striker Sardar Azmoun, the Bundesliga club have confirmed.

The 27-year-old pens a five-year-deal with Die Werkself and will link up with his new team this summer after three years with Zenit Saint Petersburg and 62 goals in 104 games across all competitions.

The announcement ends speculation over deals to join Lyon and West Ham.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has rejected an offer to move on loan to Saudi Arabia for the rest of the season, according to reports.

The Telegraph and The Athletic report that Aubameyang, who was stripped of the Arsenal captaincy last month, wants to stay in Europe.

Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal had offered to cover Aubameyang’s full £350,000 a week salary until the end of the season, but with the striker looking to stay in Europe, the club may need to cover a portion of his wage if he was to leave in January.

Newcastle have been told by Brighton that it will cost them £50m to sign Yves Bissouma.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa have also been linked with the Mali international.

The Mail claim Bissouma remains Eddie Howe’s No1 midfield target.
