Transfer deadline day LIVE reaction: Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Man Utd, Leeds, Tottenham latest deals
Follow all the latest news, rumours and deals on a frenetic day in the Premier League and beyond
Transfer deadline day is here with several Premier League teams looking set for a busy end to the window. Everton are aiming to sign Dele Alli on a permanent deal from Tottenham following the appointment of Frank Lampard, who has offered the former England international a chance to revive his career. It comes after Spurs completed the double signing of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus, with Tanguy Ndombele also leaving the club after agreeing to rejoin Lyon on loan until the end of the season.
Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived in Barcelona earlier on deadline day, with the move at one stage looking off. That seems to have changed and he has had a medical in Spain - it could be confirmed in the early hours. Jesse Lingard is now staying at Man United after a loan move broke down, while Donny van de Beek has secured a departure, moving on loan to Everton. Rangers, meanwhile, have completed the signing of Aaron Ramsey on loan from Juventus - but Liverpool’s move for Fabio Carvalho fell through late on.
We’ve brought you all the late rumours and done deals right here and the transfer window is now closed in the Premier League and Championship. Follow all the latest transfer updates from deadline day below:
Bumper month of spending in the Premier League
There were some who forecasted that January would again be quieter as clubs continued to assess the financial damage caused by the pandemic. Not so, certainly in the Premier League, where a major deadline day of spending pushed overall January outlay beyond all but one year (2018) in the league’s history.
January spending proof Premier League finances back to normal, says expert
The league’s gross spending this month reached £295million.
Dele Alli says farewell to Spurs
“It’s the end of a chapter but not the book,” says the midfielder, who reserves special praise for Mauricio Pochettino.
Dele Alli on joining Frank Lampard at Everton
“I’ve had a few good conversations with him (Lampard) already and he’s a player I’ve admired watching his whole career,” Alli told Sky Sports.
“To get the opportunity to work with him now is very exciting and I’m sure we’re going to do great things together.”

Joan Laporta believes Ousmane Dembele has already agreed next destination
One man unlikely to figure at all is Ousmane Dembele, who looks set to remain frozen out of the first-team picture having made clear his desire not to sign a new deal under the terms offered by Barcelona, but also not wanting to move on in January. The Frenchman’s contract concludes in June, which means he remains in a state of quasi-exile until then, unlikely to play but now unable to leave.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta believes Dembele already knows his next destination, but says that the situation “makes no sense”:
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang trains with Barcelona
We are still, by the way, awaiting final confirmation of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s arrival at Barcelona, though photos have shown the former Arsenal striker at Xavi’s training session today.
The club will have a decision to make over which of their four January signings to register for the Europa League - competition rules state that only three new players can be registered, which would mean one of Dani Alves, Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Aubameyang is set to miss out.
Liverpool still confident they can sign Fabio Carvalho in the summer
They didn’t quite manage to get it over the line last night, but according to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool remain keen to secure the signature of Fabio Carvalho. The youngster is out of contract in the summer and any move at that stage would require a visit to a tribunal to determine terms, but the Merseyside club hope they can reach an agreement with Fulham to avoid unnecessary convolution.

Dusan Vlahovic on joining Juventus
Arsenal wanted him, but in the end it was Juventus who were able to secure the signature of one of Europe’s brightest young strikers from Fiorentina, and Dusan Vlahovic has been explaining why the decision to move north to Turin was so simple.
“There were lot of rumours about clubs from abroad… but it was an easy choice for me [to sign for Juventus]. This club has winning mentality, like me.
“I’m extremely happy - I’m joining a glorious club and this is what I wanted. I can’t wait.
“I am still young, it seems absurd to me to be an idol for someone. Now I am at one of the strongest clubs in the world and, as I have already said, I am experiencing tremendous emotions and I just have to think about working hard to win.”

Domingos Quina goes on loan
Done deal! Deadline day might be over but confirmed moves are still coming in. Domingos Quina was once among the most coveted teenage midfielders in the country but has struggled to make an impact after leaving West Ham for Watford, and having brought to a close a disappointing loan spell at Fulham is heading back to the Championship.
Basement battlers Barnsley are desperate for something to spark their season - could Quina be the man?
