Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester City in a fascinating clash that could decide where the Premier League title ends up this season.

Man City, aiming to win the league for a fourth year in a row, come into the match second in the table just one point behind Arsenal. This match is their game in hand and should they triumph they will take a two-point lead into the final weekend of the season. A draw tonight would mean City need to make up a three-goal difference and match Arsenal’s result on Sunday while a defeat would leave the Gunners in control of the title race.

For Spurs, their target is the top four. Aston Villa failed to defeat Liverpool last night meaning their is still a chance that Tottenham can leapfrog them into the final qualifying spot for the Champions League. Spurs are four/five points behind Villa so must beat Man City to have any hope of finishing fourth.

78’ - Tottenham 0-1 Man City

Kulusevski turns away from Doku and curls in another shot from the edge of the box but it’s two yards too high and comfortably clears the bar.

We’re heading towards the final ten minutes but there will certainly be five or six minutes added on you’d imagine. Spurs fans start to whistle as City take their time on dead balls.

75’ - Tottenham 0-1 Man City

Son and Johnson almost combine again, but there’s Akanji speeding back to knock the ball to Ortega. That’s the story of Spurs’ night: almost enough, almost a chance, almost the opening they seek. But never quite getting there. Into the final 15 minutes we go.

72’ - Tottenham 0-1 Man City

Kovacic fouls Johnson then blocks the free-kick from being taken and he’s into the book too. Not a concussion sub for Ederson, we’re told, which is as expected otherwise they couldn’t have let him play on.

Kulusevski bursts into the penalty box and bundles past Akanji - his fierce shot is saved by Ortega and almost sat on by the sub keeper.

70’ - Tottenham 0-1 Man City

Looks like Guardiola or someone else has taken the decision to override the medical team, or Ederson himself. Or perhaps just not taking any risks while they lead 1-0.

Ortega is coming on for Ederson and the Brazilian isn’t too happy. De Bruyne is also coming off and Doku is on. Ederson follows Bentancur’s suit by kicking a few things as he takes his seat.

66’ - Tottenham 0-1 Man City

Bit of a head check on Ederson from the medical team after the initial treatment but they’ve cleared him to play on.

Xavi Mancisidor, the City goalkeeper coach, is booked for protestations. Guardiola has a word and tells him to calm down too. We are back underway but that’s a couple of lengthy stoppages in this half.

62’ - Tottenham 0-1 Man City

City players furious as Romero goes in on Ederson as a Kulusevski cross reaches the back post. The keeper saves and holds, the defender certainly collides with him - no replays being shown at present as Ederson gets medical treatment. Presumably there was a head impact there, VAR did take a check but the initial yellow card decision from the ref stands.

Seems that it was a hip rather than boot or leg which hit the Brazilian.

58’ - Tottenham 0-1 Man City

Lengthy treatment for De Bruyne but he’s fine to continue after a bit. Perhaps the heel tightened up a bit after that contact.

Anyway, Spurs have half an hour to score twice or they won’t be in the Champions League next season.

Some fans are certainly trying to make light of that, chanting about Arsenal again, but it’s their own team who has thrown the chance away this term.

54’ - Tottenham 0-1 Man City

Kulusevski on for Bentancur in an immediate switch for Spurs. Postecoglou not hanging around with his reaction. The Uruguayan reacts in furious manner, booting his chair several times and throwing a bottle down. Not clear if it’s with the sub, the goal or something else.

That’s the tactical response, can they have a reaction on the pitch too?

Sarr chasing back clips De Bruyne on the heel and it’s a booking for the midfielder. The Belgian looks in a lot of pain - he was stood on a little.

GOAL! 51’ - Tottenham 0-1 Man City

Opening goal! A spell of Spurs pressure doesn’t lead to a clear sight of goal, Foden streaks away down the left and suddenly it’s City who have an overload, De Bruyne fires it low across the face of goal and Haaland is there to tap into an empty net from a yard.

1-0 City and as it stands, they are top.

48’ - Tottenham 0-0 Man City

Tottenham play themselves into trouble and the ball comes to De Bruyne - he spins and fires in a strike which is on-target but Vicario flings himself left and tips the ball around the post. Good save again.
