Follow live coverage as Tottenham Hotspur face West Ham United today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Well, it seemed that Paqueta got the last touch on that move, and after a corner from Maddison comes to nothing, there's another long ball played from the right. West Ham look slightly panicked, yet Solanke's failed bicycle kick ends the move and Areola can claim easily.

West Ham, while being camped deep at times, have shown a fluidity in their movement. A smart passage of passing play comes to an end as Todibo makes the baffling decision to lump it out of play. There must've been about five or six passes before that blunder. Spurs come forward next. Porro fires and it's blocked by Rodriguez.

Spurs have West Ham sitting back very deep right now. They're just shifting the ball over from side to side, waiting for that space to open up. Maddison floats over a lovely cross from the left and Johnson is lurking, yet Emerson heads it behind for a corner on the right. This comes to nothing, but Spurs try to rush forward again and the attack ends with Maddison's dribbling effort trickling through to Areola.

Can the visitors keep this going? They have avoided defeat in their last 13 matches when scoring first in the Premier League, since a 1-3 loss to Manchester City on 16th September 2023.

Agonisingly close from Son! Spurs pop it round the right side of the West Ham box brilliantly, before teh South Korean finds space with a sublime body feint. He shoots a curling effort just wide of the right-post!
