Follow live coverage as Tottenham Hotspur face West Ham United today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United

A tough day at the office in North London for West Ham ends with the final whistle signalling a 4-1 win for Tottenham. It started so well too, as the visitors struck first. In the 18th minute, West Ham countered after Spurs pressure and a deep cross from the left found Bowen. He was able to keep the attack alive after being blocked before jinking down the right byline to pull back a deflected ball for Kudus to smash past Vicario. In the 36th minute, Kulusevski restored parity with an excellent effort off of both posts after getting fed by Maddison. He cut back onto his left-foot to send Areola to the turf despondently despite getting a hand on the ball. While the first period was tight, the second descended into madness. Bissouma snatched the lead in the 52nd minute, as he powered home following an Udogie pull-back from the left. Then, just three minutes later, West Ham didn't know where to look as Son fired at Areola, and a combination of the goalkeeper and Todibo saw it trickle over the line. If Tottenham's final goal on the hour-mark signalled West Ham's ultimate second-half collapse with Son marking his return with aplomb, then the red card for Kudus was simply the icing on the cake. After a shoving match with Van de Ven, the Ghanaian then took to pushing Sarr in the face. Initially booked for the spat, he was given his marching orders after VAR reviewed the incident. Tottenham exceeded their 1.40 xG superbly and now go sixth. West Ham struggled with their 0.92 xG, and now stay 14th, yet their position could worsen at the end of the day. Thanks for joining us, goodbye!

Well, Kulusevski is down now. While he gets to his feet, let's look at Kudus again. He is the sixth different West Ham player to both score and get sent off in the same Premier League game after Nayef Aguerd, Mark Noble (twice), Carlton Cole (twice), Frederic Piquionne and Bobby Zamora.

Handbags at dawn! Kudus tackles Van de Ven and the Dutchman takes exception to a little trample. He pushes the West Ham man as he gets to his feet, before a slap sees the defender floor-bound. Richarlison is then involved and comically bundles to the floor too.
