It doesn't feel like hyperbole to suggest that today's first half was one of Spurs' best all season. The back four has worked fantastically and the forward line of Son, Danjuma and Kulusevski behind Kane have run Brentford ragged so far. They've had nine shots (5 on target) and should have more than one goal. Brentford looked to have struggled without the focal point of Toney in attack but with only a one-goal deficit and Spurs' track record this year, they are certainly not out of this game. An intriguing second half awaits.

Harry Kane's delightful early strike has given Spurs a 1-0 lead against Brentford as we reach half-time. The Englishman needed just eight minutes to get his goal this game and what a goal it was. Kulusevksi laid the ball into his path from a free-kick and his right-footed effort from the edge of the box flew into the top corner. Royal saw an effort cleared off the line with Son, Danjuma and Kulusevski having chances late on in the half as Spurs impressed in front of their home crowd.
