Tottenham built on their strong form with a third successive win as they beat Everton in north London.

Richarlison and Son Heung-min put Spurs into an early two-goal lead and they seemed on course for a routine victory. But Sean Dyche’s side hit back through Andre Gomes as they piled on late pressure. Spurs, though, held on to claim all three points and climb back into the top four.

Everton: Pickford, Patterson, Branthwaite, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Gueye, Onana, Harrison, Garner, McNeil, Calvert-Lewin. Subs: Keane, Danjuma, Virginia, Beto, Andre Gomes, Godfrey, Chermiti, Lonergan, Hunt.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton

Tottenham hold on to beat Everton 2-1 and move into the top four. Spurs had the better of the opening exchanges and were on top for the first 20 minutes or so in which Richarlison tapped in against his former side to give them the lead before Son fired in the rebound of Johnson's saved shot for the second. Everton fought back after the break, and Calvert-Lewin had a goal controversially disallowed by VAR for a soft foul by Gomes on Emerson in the build-up. Garner then hit the post before Gomes pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute with a lovely low finish across goal. Danjuma thought he'd snatched a point with the last kick of the game, but his volley hit the underside of the bar before being blocked by Vicario on the goal line. Spurs leapfrog Manchester City in fourth spot as they make it three wins on the bounce, and next up for them is a trip to Brighton on Thursday. Everton stay 16th, but are just four points above the drop zone now after Luton Town's win. They host City next Wednesday. That's all for today, goodbye!

WHAT A SAVE Gomes switches it out to Garner on the right, but chooses to cushion it into McNeil to put the cross in. He picks out an unmarked Danjuma at the far post, and he volleys his shot off the underside of the bar, which then hits Vicario's knee on the line before bouncing back out. Goal-line technology says it didn't fully cross the line!

OVER! Son plays a cross to nobody in the Everton box and the visitors quickly counter, with Danjuma getting the better of Porro once more. The angle is tight when he takes the shot, and he lifts it just over the crossbar.

Spurs try to exploit the space that Everton are leaving in behind, and Kulusevski plays it infield from the left. Emerson runs across Patterson to make more room for Lo Celso, only to be penalised, with a free-kick being given to the Toffees.

Gomes' long ball forward is a desperate attempt to get his team upfield as he plays it nowhere near Calvert-Lewin. The board goes up though, and Everton have six minutes to find an equaliser.

Spurs just can't get out of their own half at the moment as Everton continue to push for a late equaliser. The cross comes in from Garner on the right this time, but it's too close to Vicario, who plucks it out of the air.

GOOD SAVE! Everton have the momentum now, and it's worked out to their left again. McNeil's looping shot from the edge of the box is tipped over by Vicario, and from the resulting corner, Davies makes a vital block in front of the line to keep out Tarkowski's thumping header.
