It's been an absolute field day for Spurs on the attacking front, with Maddison at the forefront having scored 36 seconds into the contest and then again with 35 seconds left on the first-half clock. Two of his three shots have found the next from an xG of 0.42, with the England playmaker also completing 15 final-third passes, creating two chances and completing all seven of his duels, including three dribbles from three attempts. If Spurs go for the jugular and attempt to make it 10 in the second half, expect their number 10 to be at the forefront.

The half-time whistle goes, and that's a small mercy for Southampton, who trail 5-0 to a resurgent Tottenham after one of the most one-sided first half performances in Premier League history. Spurs have produced a huge 2.18 xG to the hosts' 0.54, and took the lead inside the opening 36 seconds through Maddison. Little over 10 minutes later, Son and Kulusevski both lashed in from close range within moments of one another to open up a 3-0 gap, and Sarr's composed finish following a surging run added further to Saints' misery midway through the half. Armstrong did have two chances to reduce the defecit for Southampton, heading straight at Forster and firing wide at the near post, and those misses were compounded right at the end by Maddison firing in his second to make it 5-0. The Saints look dead and buried, while you'd more likely back Spurs to go and make it 10 in the second period.
