Southampton get the second half started. The hosts, down to ten men, need a big second half performance if they are to get anything out of this contest.

The Opta Supercomputer is predicting a Chelsea victory. The Blues have a 99.1% chance of three points compared to Southampton's 0.1%. A draw is also just 0.8% likely.

Chelsea with a commanding 3-1 lead at half-time at St Mary's. Disasi opened the scoring after seven minutes with a free close-range header from a Fernandez corner. Southampton, who had started well, responded instantly with Aribo getting on the end of a Walker-Peters cross. Saints were only on level terms though for a matter of minutes as Lumley gifted the ball to Madueke who found Nkunku to pass into an empty net. Madueke then got on the scoresheet himself with a precise finish into the bottom corner. It went from bad to worse for Southampton when Stephens saw red five minutes before half-time following a challenge on Cucurella. Chelsea on course for three more points whilst Southampton need a big second half.

HALF-TIME: SOUTHAMPTON 1-3 CHELSEA

Felix comes close to netting another goal for Chelsea. Madueke is again afforded time and space to deliver a cross and he picks out Felix at the back post and the forward can't convert the chance from close-range.

Caicedo tries a long-range strike but the shot deflects off his own team-mate and Lumley comfortable collects the ball.

That is an excellent tackle from Wood to deny Nkunku who had raced into the penalty area and looked to be getting a shot away on goal.
