United were nervous all night and an early mistake from David De Gea and Harry Maguire gave the hosts the lead after just eight minutes. Youssef En-Nesyri pressing high to win the ball and tap it past the goalkeeper.
Lucas Ocampos believed he had added a second just before the break but a close VAR call ruled his strike out for offside. Sevilla didn’t need long after the restart tp score though. A corner ball came to Loic Bade who shouldered an effort over the head of De Gea to give the hosts a firm grip on the match.
Things got worse for United’s goalkeeper when, late in the game, he stormed out of his box, miscontrolled the ball and gave En-Nesyri an open goal to secure the win and a spot in the semi-finals.

45+4 mins: Casemiro has a late effort that gets deflected behind for a corner. Christian Eriksen swings the set piece into the middle and Harry Maguire wins the header. He nods it down but Sevilla work the ball away and counter-attack.
Lucas Ocampos drives down the right side than blazes a pass across the front edge of goal. The resultant corner is cleared as far as Rakitic who volleys a shot back towards goal and sees his effort blocked by Casemiro!
The half-time whistle goes and United take a breath. They’ve been played off the park in that half.

42 mins: Reprieve for Man Utd! VAR takes a look at the goal and spots that Acuna had just drifted offside. Man Utd are so, so lucky. They’re still in this game.

40 mins: Two! United give the ball away yet again with En-Nesyri carrying it up the inside left. He sends the ball out to Acuna who whips a cross over to Lucas Ocampos.
Ocampos drags the ball down then smokes it past David De Gea to send the host two goals to the good!

38 mins: Close! A decent counter-attack from Sevilla make use of the spaces in between United’s lines. Erik Lamela receives the ball on the edge of the box.
He cuts across the front edge and pokes a shot through the defence only for David De Gea to drop low and scoop up the ball.

35 mins: Chance! United do well to sweep the ball over the pitch and find Antony on the right wing. Antony dances inside of Acuna and lifts a cross into the penalty area.
Casemiro arrives for the header and wins it in the air but he can’t control the effort and nods the ball over the top.
The Red Devils are showing signs of life though yet that early goal could come back to haunt them.

Marcel Sabitzer is shoved off the ball by Fernando and United win a free kick just inside Sevilla’s half.

29 mins: Sevilla have an injury to deal with. Marcao pulls up clutching his hamstring after marshalling the ball out of play. He can’t continue and Suso is brought on to replace him.
To compensate Nemanja Gudelj slots back into the centre-back position with Suso filling in in midfield.

Sevilla’s set piece is one from training ground but comes to nothing as Marcel Sabitzer gets it clear.
