Erling Haaland was on form as City beat Sevilla
Erling Haaland continued his free-scoring start to life at Manchester City with two more goals in a 4-0 win over Sevilla in Champions League Group G on Tuesday.
The Norwegian has now scored 12 goals in seven competitive games for City since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund during the close-season.
The blond striker put City ahead in the 20th minute, stretching to reach a cross from Kevin De Bruyne and place it past Sevilla keeper Yassine Bounou.
Phil Foden made it 2-0 after the break, jinking and turning to create space on the edge of the box before placing the ball into the bottom corner.
Haaland then made sure of a comfortable victory, pouncing to tap-in after Bounou had pushed out a low drive from the impressive Foden and then defender Ruben Dias added the fourth in stoppage time, turning in a low cross from Joao Cancelo.

As Sevilla push up the pitch looking for a goal, City hit them with pace and power. Foden drives into the box from the left side and nutmegs Nemanja Gudelj with his shot at goal.
Yassine Bounou does well to keep out the shot but palms it straight to Haaland who taps in for his second and City’s third.

66 mins: Disallowed goal! A simple diagonal pass is floated into the box as Phil Foden sneaks in behind on the left where he has replaced Grealish.
The goalkeeper comes out to close Foden down but he’s in the air first and nods the ball down to Gundogan whose first touch in the game is to put the ball in the back of the net.
City don’t have time to start celebrating as the flag is up for offside against Foden.

Manchester City are comfortable now. It’s a counter-attack sparked into existence by Bernardo Silva’s interception and delivery out to Foden on the right side.
He slots the ball up to Joao Cancelo on the overlap before heaidng into the box. Cancelo pulls the ball back to Foden who shifts it past a defender, rolls the ball onto his left-foot then guides it beautifully into the bottom right corner.

54 mins: A couple of times now City’s attacks have broken down on the edge of the box through miscommunication first Jack Grealish then Kevin De Bruyne look to feed passes into the more forward players in these cases Erling Haaland and Phil Foden but both men make further runs into the box and run past the ball.
