From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Crystal Palace's late show earned a deserved 2-0 win at Wolves.

Jordan Ayew and Luka Milivojevic, from the penalty spot, scored in the final seven minutes to ease Palace's goal woes.

The Eagles' loan pursuit of Liverpool's Dominic Solanke looks over with doubts over his fitness while Wilfried Zaha stretched his goal drought to 14 games.

Wolves are chasing Chelsea's Tammy Abraham, currently on loan at Aston Villa, and both teams showed why they needed fresh firepower in a forgettable game. Re-live the action below:

Player to watch

Wilfried Zaha: As one of the best dribblers in the league, Zaha is an absolute nightmare for any defender and is a vital aspect of Hodgson’s team. Despite the result, he looked bright against Chelsea last weekend and made a number of powerful runs and if he’s on his game this evening, he could definitely help his side leave with something.

Odds

Wolves to win: 21/20

Palace to win: 16/5

Draw: 11/5

Prediction

Wolves 1-1 Crystal Palace: Wolves have been brilliant all season against the top six sides but have let themselves down at times against the lower teams. Nevertheless, they sit in a great position just six points off Manchester United. Palace are a threat though when they’re on their game which I think they might be, I’m going for a draw

GOAL! Newcastle 0-2 Manchester United (Marcus Rashford, 80 minutes)

Game over.

Romelu Lukaku moves down the right and draws the Newcastle defence to him, squaring for Alexis Sanchez in space on the edge of the box.

The whole defensive unit is shifted towards Lukaku, and Sanchez draws the two defenders on the other side to him, leaving Marcus Rashford completely free on the left.

Rashford is found simply by Sanchez, takes a touch and slots past Martin Dubravka.

A hard-earned point for Southampton. A disappointing draw for Chelsea. 0-0.

From 2-0 down, West Ham secure a point thanks to two goals from Marko Arnautovic. West Ham 2-2 Brighton.

Two late goals from Crystal Palace are enough to notch a very good away win at Molineux. It finishes 2-0 to the visitors.

A crucial three points for Burnley, with goals from striking duo Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes turning things around after Steve Mounie gave Huddersfield the lead, Christopher Schindler's red card proving costly for David Wagner's side. 2-1.

Newcastle 0-2 Manchester United, 87 minutes

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make his final alteration, with Jesse Lingard stripped and ready.

Marcus Rashford pulls himself wide out to the left touchline to leave himself as long a walk as possible off the pitch as he is replaced.

Bournemouth 3-3 Watford, 85 minutes

After six goals in the first half, surprisingly there has been no goal action in the second 45 minutes at the Vitality.

Troy Deeney does have the ball in the net after heading home from Tom Cleverley's cross, but Deeney has fouled Nathan Ake and the goal will not count.

Newcastle 0-2 Manchester United, 90 minutes

Six minutes for Manchester United to see out what would be just their third clean sheet of the season.

Harry Latham-Coyle2 January 2019 21:49

Newcastle 0-2 Manchester United, 90 + 3 minutes

A cross into the box bounces around a number of Newcastle and Manchester United players, but the hosts aren't able to make telling contact to get a shot away.

Manchester United then break, and Paul Pogba is able to charge free and round Martin Dubravka. His touch makes the angle tight and he can only bend the ball into the side netting.

Six goals in the first half, none in the second. Honours even at the Vitality Stadium as Bournemouth and Watford take a point apiece.
