From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Australia international midfielder found the net in each half as the Terriers were deserved winners at Molineux, where the hosts looked off the pace on their return from the international break.
Mooy's double was the first time Huddersfield had scored twice in a game this season and their second win of the campaign lifted David Wagner's team up to 14th in the table. Wolves are now without a win in five Premier League matches, losing four. PA

Wolves look deflated now. This has been a spiriting Huddersfield performance, one that will propel them up the table. They've executed Wagner's game plan to perfection.

Traore lofts a dangerous ball into the box but Lössl gets enough of a touch to take it away from any onrushing Wolves players. Huddersfield are close now.

Three minutes of added time to be played.
A triple change in injury time for Huddersfield to run the clock down: Pritchard, Billing and Hogg make way. Mbenza, Williams and Stankovic come on.
Full time: A huge win for Huddersfield. They were bottom before kick off; now they're 14th. And it's fully deserved. They were superb in all areas, far superior to a Wolves team who were disappointingly lacklustre.
Mooy, who scored twice, will take the plaudits. But this was a near perfect team performance from the Terriers.
