Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Liverpool travel to basement boys Swansea tonight in search of all three points as they look to draw level with Chelsea on 50 points.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are unbeaten in 18 games, an impressive record that stretches back to their 4-1 humbling at Tottenham.
The same can’t be said for Swansea whose last defeat came at the turn of the year in a 2-0 loss by Tottenham. New manager Carlos Carvalhal has helped lift spirits at the Liberty – but will it be enough to fell visitors Liverpool?

69' - For all their huffing and puffing, Liverpool are yet to create a bona fide clear-cut opportunity tonight.
Emre Can has just tried his luck from distance but his shot sailed well over the crossbar.
71' - Some lovely link-up play involving Joel Matip, Emre Can and Mo Salah ends with the former rifling a shot over the bar from the edge of the area.
77' - The ball falls to Liverpool substitute Danny Ings after a scramble in the area but the striker's left-footed finish is well saved by Lukasz Fabianski down to his left.
82' - Virgil van Dijk goes for the spectacular as he volleys the ball towards goal from 25 yards. Unsurprisingly, the big Dutchman's effort lands off target.
Liverpool have had far more of the ball but they've largely been restricted to shots from distance tonight, which is a credit to how well Swansea have defended.
