Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has enjoyed playing in the Champions League this season and does not think he will have to leave the club to repeat the experience. The Premier League champions reached the quarter-finals of the competition at the first attempt but a disappointing domestic campaign means there will be no continental football for them next season.
The 15:00 kick-off's are just kicking off, so stay tuned for live updates from all of the fixtures.
HULL CITY 0 - 0 SUNDERLAND
The home side have been under the cosh from the off, with The Black Cats dominating so far.
The ball flies into the danger zone, but George Honeyman fails to hit the target with an unmarked header from 12-yards.
LEICESTER CITY 0 - 0 WATFORD
The Foxes go short with a corner kick to Albrighton, but his delivery into the box flies just over the head of Benalouane at the far post.
