From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Watford (Salah, 4)
It's that man again!
Mo Salah collects the ball on the edge of the area before gliding past Miguel Britos and slotting home from close range with his right foot.
Lovely solo goal.
7' - Mo Salah almost finds himself in on goal again after a good off-the-ball run but Jordan Henderson's through pass has a little too much on it and Orestis Karnezis rushes off his line collect the ball ahead of the Egyptian.
13' - It's been all Liverpool so far in this one and Watford are currently struggling to just get out of their own half.
18' - All pretty dull stuff at Anfield at the moment, to be honest. Liverpool are comfortable but they've not produced much going forward since Mo Salah's wonderful early opener.
23' - Anyone else tired? No? Just me? It must be this match that I'm watching.
Anfield is very, very flat right now and that's understandable given how this game is going. Usually a match will open up after an early goal but the opposite seems to have happened here.
27' - Liverpool's Emre Can is forced off with what looks like a back injury and James Milner is on in his place.
