Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Arsenal 5-1 Everton
Aaron Ramsey clutches the match ball after his hat-trick and goals from Laurent Koscielny and debutante Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was enough to humiliate Everton. The game was over when it was 3-0 after 19 minutes but Everton produced some fightback in the secod half and got on the score sheet when Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed in but it was a very miserable afternoon for Sam Allardyce's side.

More to come
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to BT Sport: "I'm really happy we won the game in the first half, the second was a bit different but we are very happy today. (More to come) I think so!"

To make matters worse for Sam Allardyce, Ademola Lookman, who Big Sam seemed to want to keep, has just scored for RB Leipzig.
Read what The Independent's chief football correspondent Miguel Delaney made of Arsenal's 5-1 win against Everton.
