Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Follow live updates as Manchester United host Watford at Old Trafford in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first match as permanent manger.

Solskjaer was giving the full-time job over the international break after his impressive list of results since taking caretaker control in December.

Hello hello.

Manchester City have just wrapped up a comfortable 2-0 win at Craven Cottage to return to the top of the Premier League table, but it's at the bottom where this afternoon's big news could come.

Huddersfield will be relegated with wins for Burnley and Southampton should they lose to Crystal Palace.

Jan Siewert looks confident, though.

Ole's at the wheel on a longer-term basis, with Manchester United confirming his appointment as the permanent manager earlier in the week.

Mark Critchley is at Old Trafford this afternoon to watch his first game in charge since that announcement, and has the inside story on why the Solskjaer's the man for Manchester United:

Solskajer has opted for a midfield diamond and a speedy striking duo of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford this afternoon.

Watford are in town, Javi Gracia's side firmly in the mix for seventh place and seeking a first ever league win at Old Trafford.
