From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Mata delivers a corner into the path of Rojo, but Arsenal clear the danger. Well, as far as Herrera on the edge of the box, but he wastes the opportunity and sends a strike way over the target. He should have done better there.

Darmian receives his last warning, after he takes down Jenkinson, whilst already carrying a yellow card.

A huge penalty shout roars around Old Trafford, as Monreal appears to take down Valencia inside of the box.

Following replays, it appears that it was little more than clumsy from the Spanish defender.

Mata gives Cech his first real test of the fixture so far, as he fires a left footed strike from distance. The Arsenal keeper springs to the far post and paw's the ball out for a corner. Great strike, but even better save.

United look lethal going forward.

Elneny goes for goal from distance, and it pretty much sums up Arsenal's display so far. It fails to test De Gea and drifts over the bar.

A mistake from Ramsey invites pressure for his side on the edge of the box, and following a string of passes from United, Martial pulls the trigger.

It's a good strike, but again, Cech is there to save the day. He leaps up and parries the ball out for a corner kick.

It's sloppy from Wenger's men at the back, they certainly are walking on very thin ice at the moment. Half time can not come quick enough for the visitors.

An attack from The Gunners fizzles out, and Rashford picks up and possession and once again, charges into the Arsenal half. He beats two, but the attack comes to an end with a fantastic sliding challenge from Coquelin.

HALF TIME

It's been a slow start for the visitors who have failed to find their feet for the first half of this bout. They look although they need an injection of energy and a reminder of the importance of this fixture. Sanchez looks on form, but he's not receiving the service that he requires to make an impact so he's being forced to come back and hunt for possession himself.

However, United have done well and the pace of their attacks appears to be unsettling the Arsenal defence. They look dangerous on the counter attack and began to really test the ability of Cech towards the end of that half. They will be hoping to carry this momentum into the second half.

The main talking point of this half so far is the penalty call for United. Monreal does have an arm raised, but whether it is obstructing Valencia enough to bring him to the ground is questionable. No doubt Mourinho will have a few things to say about this.

There will be two very different team talks during this break.

And we're off (again)...

Arsenal kick-off the second half.

Let's see if the half-time team talks will influence the sides. There's room for improvement from both sides here today.
