From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

HALF TIME

It's been an incredibly frustrating first half for the home side, with the visitors snatching an advantage with a powerful header from Antonio against the run of play.

Pochettino's men responded well, but it wasn't enough and The Hammers enter the break with a one goal lead. Nonetheless, you have to salute the persistence of Bilic's men. They've looked strong at the back and threatening on the counter attack.

It's an upbeat start to the second half. Payet breaks into the Spurs penalty area and it looks although he is going to pull the trigger but Vertonghen slides in to save the day for the home side.

GOAL

TOTTENHAM 1 - 1 WEST HAM

What a response that is from Pochettino's men. And it's Harry Winks on his Premier League debut, at just 20 years old. A strike is parried into his path in the six yard box, but he's in the right place at the right time, to simply slot the ball home.

It's all level. Game on.

Winks finds Walker down the right hand side, who whips a ball towards Kane at the back post. It meets the head of Kane, who then claims that the West Ham defender hand balled the ball inside of the area. Referee flags play on.

Since the goal, Spurs seem to have came out of their shell and are playing with purpose now. The Hammers are under constant attack and will need to step it up a gear if they want to maintain this scoreline.
