From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Manchester United host Chelsea having been bumped down to third in the Premier League following Liverpool’s 4-1 win over West Ham on Saturday.

The Blues could leap above United too with a win this afternoon, though that would involve victory by a three-goal margin at Old Trafford, not something Jose Mourinho is likely to give up lightly to his old foe Antonio Conte.

Both managers have done their best to play down their rift in the buildup to this one, a far cry from the vocal and very public sparring of a month ago. This one promises to be a tasty affair on the touchline as well as the pitch.

Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea

60: With around half an hour to go this game is very finely balanced. Manchester United have taken control of possession and playing at their tempo but Chelsea look very dangerous on the break.

66: Old Trafford cheers as Scott McTominay steals the ball from Eden Hazard and sets Manchester United on their way. Alexis Sanchez crosses towards Romelu Lukaku who acrobatically gets his lefts foot up and behind him to volley towards goal. The close range effort is brilliantly turned behind by Thibaut Courtois.

68: Antonio Valencia is booked for a foul on Eden Hazard. From the resulting free kick, Willian swings a low cross to the front post and David De Gea almost spills the ball over the line. Someone get that man a cap, the low sun is clearly causing problems.

71: What? Eden Hazard is coming off for Pedro. That's an interesting one. He took a whack from Antonio Valencia earlier, but to take off your best player is always a bold move from a manager.

Jesse Lingard

75: Romelu Lukaku collects Scott McTominay's clipped pass into the right channel. The Belgian cuts inside then curls a cross into the box where Jesse Lingard is first to react and he head in at the front post.

79: Manchester United respond to Chelsea's attacking substitute by bringing on Eric Bailly for Alexis Sanchez. He passes a note to Nemanja Matic which Willian cheekily tries to read. Chelsea bring on Cesc Fabregas for Danny Drinkwater.

82: Minor handbags from Nemanja Matic, could that be what was written on the note? He reacts badly to Antonio Rudiger's aggression after fouling Jesse Lingard.
