From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Manchester United host Chelsea having been bumped down to third in the Premier League following Liverpool’s 4-1 win over West Ham on Saturday.

The Blues could leap above United too with a win this afternoon, though that would involve victory by a three-goal margin at Old Trafford, not something Jose Mourinho is likely to give up lightly to his old foe Antonio Conte.

Both managers have done their best to play down their rift in the buildup to this one, a far cry from the vocal and very public sparring of a month ago. This one promises to be a tasty affair on the touchline as well as the pitch.

Paul Pogab yet to fulfill.

"He's playing in the position he's wanted to play since coming. When you buy a player of that experience and pedigree, he's got to produce in big games. He has to do a lot more, he's yet to really fulfill." - Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports.

The teams are leaving the tunnels. Antonio Conte is at the front of the tunnel while Jose Mourinho lingers at the back. It looks like they're avoiding each other like two school children who are playing at different ends of the playground after falling out.

The television cameras are on the two managers and there is a reluctant handshake between the two of them. Right, that's enough drama, on with the football!

The rebound falls to Eden Hazard who forces David De Gea to tip his shot over. Good start from Chelsea.

Manchester United 0-0 Chelsea

6: Chelsea have had the larger share of possession in the opening exchanges and Manchester United have been caught in the headlights. Nobody in red is getting stuck in and trying to take charge in the middle.

8: Scott McTominay has been instructed to follow Eden Hazard around the pitch. He's sticking to his task but not following him around all the time. This will be a huge test for the youngster.
