Raheem Sterling also got on the scoresheet, coming off the bench after a difficult week in the headlines, to make the game safe after the lively Dominic Calvert-Lewin had given Everton hope.
City's performance marked a strong return to form after last week's first league loss of the season at Chelsea and put pressure back on rivals Liverpool ahead of their clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
City were further lifted by the return of Kevin De Bruyne as a substitute after six weeks out while Sergio Aguero was also back in the squad, although he did not come off the bench.

City get the three points today that moves them back to the top of league ahead of Liverpool.
A brace from Gabriel Jesus and a third from Raheem Sterling is enough to cancel out Calvert-Lewin's goal which gave Everton a lifeline in the game.
The Brazilian was rightly awarded as the man of the match scoring two good goals and having an instrumental role in City's third.
Everton shouldn't be too disheartened as they had plenty of chances, particularly those which fell to the feet of Richarlison.
The Toffees remain in 7th place, giving Wolves, Leicester and Bournemouth the chance to jump ahead of them later this afternoon.
