Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Klopp wary of West Ham challenge

Liverpool host West Ham at Anfield this afternoon and Jurgen Klopp is prepared for a tough challenge.

In his pre-match press conference earlier this week, he said:

"They changed system and they’re just very mature right now. They’re not safe but it’s more positive for them.

"They’re in a good moment right now. At moments you play against a wall of eight, and they have quick players who are a little bit hidden for the counter.

"We all know that, it’s not easy. The good thing is we've had time to prepare and that’s helpful and that’s why it’s a different game to Porto.

"David (Moyes) is very experienced and knows what he’s doing."

Today's game against Huddersfield is a must-win for West Brom and this is what Baggies boss Alan Pardew has had to say about the encounter:

"This is a massive game against a Huddersfield side that have improved recently.

"They’ve had a couple of good results.

"We need to win for our fans, for ourselves, for our pride and show courage and honour in our performance."
