43 mins: Claudio Yacob doesn't fancy his chances against the Manchester City midfield - and that's why the Argentine has talked his way to a fifth booking of the season and a one-match suspension. Yacob took exception to Neil Swarbrick ruling against Darren Fletcher's trip on Emre Can, and will miss next week's home match against Pep Guardiola's team.
45 mins: One extra minute will be played. That's still enough time for some more lacklustre West Bromwich Albion rubbish.
SECOND HALF KICK-OFF: Tony Pulis makes a single half-time change with Chris Brunt replacing the booked Claudio Yacob. While it's great to see Brunt continue his recovery from the long-term knee injury that kept him out for the majority of last season, his introduction here is highly unlikely to stem the tide.
55 mins: The wonderfully quick feet of Roberto Firmino make Craig Dawson look daft on the far touchline and all the West Brom defender can do is bring the Brazilian down illegally. If this was a boxing match, it would have been stopped long ago, and James Milner takes pity on the visitors by punting the free-kick 30 yards beyond a busy penalty area.
64 mins: It's a third and final substitution for West Brom. James McClean takes a leave of absence and on for the final third is Hal Robson-Kanu. Now we're talking...
66 mins: An excellent block by Jonas Olsson denies Emre Can a third Liverpool goal. The Swede threw himself in the path of Can's shot after the German had been teed up by Philippe Coutinho's square ball. Coutinho, in turn, had been sent clear by James Milner's brilliant 50-yard pass.
69 mins: West Bromwich Albion win a corner to huge cheers from the away end. Probably not even ironic.
70 mins: And from it, they go close! Brunt's delivery is headed out by Firmino but only as far as Nacer Chadli. The Belgian has to dig it his shot from under his feet, but can't get enough purchase to get it up, down and in.
74 mins: Liverpool are getting a little bit cocksure and, after overplaying the ball in defence, they lose possession and allow James Morrison a shooting chance. The Scottish midfielder is wayward with his effort but it's a little reminder that with just over a quarter of an hour remaining, this result is not certain - and it definitely should be. In fact, anything other than a comfortable Liverpool victory would be a travesty.
