From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Crystal Palace were the last team to beat Liverpool at home in the Premier League, in April 2017, and they travel to Anfield this weekend.

League leaders Liverpool got back to winning ways with a disciplined 1-0 win at Brighton last week, and can stretch their lead at the top to seven ahead of Manchester City’s game at Huddersfield on Sunday.

After losing 2-1 at home to Watford last week, Roy Hodgson’s team lie in 14th place on 22 points, but just four points off the relegation zone. Follow the live action below.

What time does it start?

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace kicks off at 3:00pm (GMT) on Saturday 19th January.

Where can I watch it?

The match will not be shown live on TV or online in the UK.

Independent Sport will keep you up to date with all the goals as they fly in via our live blog.

Highlights will be shown at 10:20pm on BBC One.

Player to watch…

Mohamed Salah: The Egyptian was once again the match-winner last week at Brighton, winning and scoring the penalty which secured three important points. Currently joint top-scorer in the Premier League on 14 goals alongside Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Salah is at times being deployed as a central striker, a role he is thriving in as Liverpool look to stay clear of Manchester City.

Prediction:

Liverpool to win 3-0

GOAL! Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace (Mohamed Salah, 46 minutes)

Whatever Jurgen Klopp said has worked! Perfect start to the half for Liverpool!

It is an effort from distance by Virgil Van Djik that deflects into Mohamed Salah's path, and the Egyptian calmly knocks the ball past Julian Speroni to equalise at Anfield.

Bournemouth 0-0 West Ham, 47 minutes

It remains goalless on the South Coast, but Bournemouth continue to have the better of things, Steve Cook meeting a Ryan Fraser cross and forcing Lukasz Fabianski into a fingertip stop

Southampton 0-0 Everton, 48 minutes

It was a disappointing first half from Everton but they start the second brightly, Alex McCarthy saving well from Gylfi Sigurdsson.

But...

GOAL! Southampton 1-0 Everton (James Ward-Prowse, 50 minutes)

Superb strike from James Ward-Prowse! Southampton lead!

Ward-Browse hits his shot from range perfectly to beat Jordan Pickford and give the home side the early second-half advantage.

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-0 West Ham (Callum Wilson, 53 minutes)

Volleyed home, and the other South Coasters also take the lead!

Ryan Fraser has looked dangerous throughout and again beats his man before setting up Callum Wilson, who impressively meets the cross on the volley to fire Bournemouth ahead.

GOAL! Liverpool 2-1 Crystal Palace (Roberto Firmino, 53 minutes)

Turnaround at Anfield - Liverpool lead!

Roberto Firmino finds space in the Crystal Palace box and looks goalwards, his shot taking a healthy nick off a defender and leaving Julian Speroni helpless as it nestles in the far bottom corner.

1000 Premier League goals for Liverpool at Anfield, Roberto Firmino's deflected effort putting them ahead against Crystal Palace.

Manchester United 2-0 Brighton, 60 minutes

Lewis Dunk steals in at the far post but can only find the side netting.

GOAL! Newcastle 2-0 Cardiff (Fabian Schar, 63 minutes)

Two for Schar, two for Newcastle!

The Swiss centre-half turns Matt Ritchie's corner past Neil Etheridge to double Newcastle's lead.

Harry Latham-Coyle19 January 2019 16:23

GOAL! Southampton 2-0 Everton (Lucas Digne own goal, 63 minutes)

Southampton do similarly!

Lucas Digne is unfortunate to divert the past Jordan Pickford sliding back on Nathan Redmond moving away from him.
