Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

3 MINS

Everton begin to dictate the tempo of the game as they string passes around the back four. The Hammers will have to find their feet quickly and begin to make an impact.

Bilic's men begin to maintain possession and appear to be targetting Antonio as their attacking outlet. The 26 year old striker has scored 5 goals so far in this league campaign - The Hammers will have to keep a close eye on him today.

A poor clearance from Adrian gives Mirallas possession, but the attack is dealt with at the back. That's sloppy from the Spanish keeper.

No real attacks on goal yet.

Payet delivers a corner that finds Fernandes on the edge of the box, but he is closed down on the edge of the box by a wall of blue shirts. Everton win possession and charge on the counter attack, with Lukaku running the length of the pitch but The Hammers make it back just in time and manage to minimise the danger.

19 MINS

It's far too easy for West Ham at the moment. There's no pressure when they're in possession so they have time to build their attacks from the back and slowly work their way up the pitch. The likes of Lukaku and Mirallas should be closing them down quicker.

However, Coleman is doing well for Everton at the back as he is keeping Antonio quiet and marking him tightly.

21 MINS

An Everton attack leaves blue shirts knocking the ball around in the West Ham box. Continuous attempts on goal are blocked by a sea of claret and blue shirts, but the final ball finds Lukaku but he is unable to control it. That should be a wake up call for The Hammers.

Bolasie breaks down the right but it's easily dealt with by the Hammers defence. They need to do better in there.

What a save! Excellent reflexes from Adrian who denies Barkley from close range. Barkley beats his man inside the box and fires the ball towards the goal, but the trailing hand of the Spanish keeper saves the day.

A free kick from Payet flys into the Everton box, but no blue shirts can get on the end of it. It's a waste. With such talent on the set pieces, they need to be doing more from there.
