From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Spurs have bounced back from their defeat to Manchester City late last month by recording three wins on the bounce, and they will be looking for a fourth against a Palace side who have failed to win in their last six top-flight games.
Roy Hodgson may take inspiration from the last time the Eagles welcomed a side from North London a fortnight ago, when they scored their first home goals of the season to draw 2-2 with Arsenal. Follow live:

Player to watch…
Harry Kane: The Spurs forward appeared to be suffering from a World Cup hangover at the beginning of the season but three goals in his last two appearances have raised hopes that he has overcome that hurdle. His double against PSV Eindhoven saw the England striker drag Spurs away from the depths of defeat, as he has done so many times, while his goal against Wolves proved to be the difference between the sides at Molineux.

No Zaha
Wilfried Zaha is missing for Crystal Palace, and it makes bad reading for the home side. Palace have lost their last 11 Premier League matches without their main man! Tottenham score the first goal without even kicking a ball.
So just ten minutes until kick-off here at Selhurst Park.
Will Crystal Palace repeat their display against Arsenal? Or will Tottenham triumph again with Harry Kane back in form?
Well current form suggests the latter, with Spurs having collected the most points away from home and Palace the fewest at home.
1 min: Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham
So here we go as Palace kick us off in the final game of the day. Will Spurs go level with Liverpool and Chelsea on 27 points?
5 min: Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham
The rain hasn't stopped the electric Palace faithful from making their voices heard. Spurs though are controlling things on the field and have dominated possession so far.
9 min: Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham
Juan Foyth had somewhat of a nightmare last weekend as he gave away two penalties against Wolves. He looks solid though here as he clears Jordan Ayew's cross behind for a corner.
The resulting set-piece in fact causes problems for Hugo Lloris, who fails to get a punch on it, but nothing comes of it.
13 min: Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham
Lucas Moura has been great going forward this season, but he stops an almost certain goal for Palace. Ayew finds former Spurs man Andros Townsend, and he digs a cross out to find McArthur at the back post.
The midfielder nods it across goal and only the Brazilian's interception stops Kouyate from getting an effort on target from point-blank range.
16 min: Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham
A chance for the former Spurs man Townsend now. Mamadou Sakho plays a clipped ball forward and the rainfall sees the ball skip off the surface and allows Townsend to run onto it.
The winger however can only find the side netting with his near-post shot.
20 min: Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham
Sakho nearly created one for his side, and he now stops a certain goal.
His fellow Frenchman Moussa Sissoko drives his way past the hapless Palace defence down the left, and just as he looks to fire home, Sakho slides in to block.
