From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Tottenham Hotspur travel to Selhurst Park in Sunday’s early Premier League kick-off needing to win to keep their top four hopes alive.

Spurs currently sit fifth but can temporarily leapfrog Chelsea with a win, ahead of their match with Manchester United. But Spurs will need to win without their first-choice defensive partnership of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld. In their absence, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier line up together in the heart of a four-man defence.

Crystal Palace have injuries of their own to worry about, leading to Roy Hodgson giving 20-year-old Aaron Wan-Bissaka a start. Jaïro Riedewald is also named in their starting XI.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

45: Someone is booked as we head into one minute of added time. Mousa Dembele brought down Andros Townsend when he was trying to break away so we'll say it was him.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham were momentarily given a penalty midway through the first half when Timothy Fosu-Mensah brought down Harry Kane after a defensive error. The referee, Kevin Friend, pointed to the spot but soon realised his assistant had his flag up for offside on the far play and Palace were let off the hook.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

Injured Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha is in attendance at Selhurst Park this afternoon. Palace have failed to win any of their nine games with Zaha unavailable for selection and scored just one goal without him.

46: We're back underway at Selhurst Park. Crystal Palace get the second half underway.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

46: Tottenham with all of the ball so far but Crystal Palace are standing firm. They're defending the width of their penalty area and making the pitch very narrow which is making Spurs work hard for space in the final third.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

48: A nice flick from Dele Alli finds Harry Kane in space about 30 yards out. He sets himself and shoots but the ball flies well over the goal. He is human after all.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

49: Space opens up for Christian Benteke to run at Eric Dier but the defender, who has bossed the big Belgian, eases him off the ball.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

50: A cross falls to Christian Eriksen in the box and he strikes it with a first time volley. The shot goes over and from that position you might expect him to do slightly better although replays show it came off his ankle last.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

52: Spurs are starting to increase the pressure on the Crystal Palace defence but the home side are standing firm.
