Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Life at Stamford Bridge has started very promisingly for Maurizio Sarri, who has guided Chelsea to three wins in their opening Premier League matches.

Chelsea, however, will not be taking Bournemouth lightly, having lost to them twice at home in their last three league meetings in west London.

Eddie Howe could hand Jefferson Lerma his Premier League debut and will welcome back Adam Smith, who returns from suspension, as they look to maintain their unbeaten start.

We'll have all the latest from Stamford Bridge and around the Premier League:

Prediction

Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth

BRIGHTON 0-2 FULHAM (Mitrovic, 63)

Dunk was punished by the big Serb as he won the ball off the Brighton defender and prodded past Mat Ryan on his second attempt.

Fulham looking comfortable and happy.

Brighton 1-2 Fulham (Murray, 67)

And the Seagulls are right back in it!

Glenn Murray who was the hero when they put United to the sword a few weeks ago has given them a lifeline here.

Can they find an equaliser?

Nathan Jacobs1 September 2018 16:26

Chelsea still doing most of the probing and Giroud takes the shot from the edge of the box which flashes narrowly wide.

Can Begovic keep his clean sheet at Stamford Bridge?

It'd be Bournemouth's consecutive shut-out in London.

GOAL! CHELSEA 1-0 BOURNEMOUTH (Pedro, 72)

Scrap everything I just said!

It's one-nil to Chelsea and it's due to work from the two substitutes as Giroud and Pedro link up with a one-two and Pedro beats Ake before beating Begovic!

Chelsea are currently moving on to four wins from four alongside Liverpool as things stand!

Bournemouth still look a threat themselves and Ryan Fraser found himself bearing down on goal but his shot sails wide of Kepa's goal.

Miss of the season contender at West Ham apparently with Gimenez finding himself free in the box for Wolves but he falls over the ball and the Hammers breathe a sigh of relief.

Still 0-0 at the London Stadium.

Can either side make the breakthrough?

Nathan Jacobs1 September 2018 16:36

Kovacic who has had a fabulous home debut for Chelsea is replaced by Ruben Loftus Cheek.

Can Chelsea keep hold of their narrow victory?

PENALTY TO BRIGHTON!

Second one of the game...

Nathan Jacobs1 September 2018 16:40

GOAL! Brighton 2-2 Fulham (Murray, 83)

And Brighton find the equaliser from the penalty spot and it's that man Murray once again.

This game is finely finely balanced.

Nathan Jacobs1 September 2018 16:42

GOAL! Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth (Hazard, 85)

Chelsea put any doubt to bed and net once again.
