Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Life at Stamford Bridge has started very promisingly for Maurizio Sarri, who has guided Chelsea to three wins in their opening Premier League matches.

Chelsea, however, will not be taking Bournemouth lightly, having lost to them twice at home in their last three league meetings in west London.

Eddie Howe could hand Jefferson Lerma his Premier League debut and will welcome back Adam Smith, who returns from suspension, as they look to maintain their unbeaten start.

We'll have all the latest from Stamford Bridge and around the Premier League:

PENALTY TO BRIGHTON

24 mins: SAVED!

Gross' penalty is saved by Bettinelli who is back in the side today.

Murray will be kicking himself for not taking it himself. Big chance gone for the scoring to be opened.

After a good start for Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have started to dominate possession and are keeping the Cherries penned in.

We're half an hour into Premier League kick offs and we still have no goals.

Not a single one.

I won't do any more jinxing.

Palace have had a big penalty shout waved away as Bertrand came from behind Benteke and felled him but Martin Atkinson refuses to blow up.

Still 0-0.

GOAL! EVERTON 0-1 HUDDERSFIELD (Billing, 34)

The biggest home banker of the Premier League games has produced the first goal and it would surely be your last guess!

The Terriers take the lead at Goodison despite Everton's good form so far this season.

GOAL! EVERTON 1-1 HUDDERSFIELD (Calvert-Lewin, 35)

Digne's cross is sent towards Calvert-Lewin who's header is flicked towards goal and beats Lossl even though he will feel he could've done slightly better.

Their lead was very very short-lived!

I told you it was a surprise they took the lead.

Willian is hobbling off but will be hoping to come back on. He's played okay so far having replaced Pedro.

BRIGHTON 0-1 FULHAM (Schurrle, 42)

Fulham continue where they left off last week and having saved a penalty earlier in the afternoon, the Cottagers now have the lead at the Amex.

POST HIT! Hazard rolls the ball across goal for Alonso who miskicks it into the post.

Good chance for Chelsea though just before half time.
