Cardiff City's Sol Bamba netted a dramatic late goal after a goalmouth scramble as they snatched a 2-1 win over 10-man Brighton & Hove Albion to move out of the Premier League relegation zone on Saturday.

With seconds left Bamba's overhead kick come back off the post and the rebound fell to Callum Paterson whose effort cannoned off the bar. But Bamba made no mistake third time round when he fired the ball into the roof of the net.

It completed a day to remember for Neil Warnock, who was celebrating 100 games in charge of Cardiff, as the Welsh club recorded their second top-flight victory of the season after Brighton's Dale Stephens was sent off in the first half.

Three minutes added on at the end of what has been an exciting first half ever since Lewis Dunk headed home the opening goal of the game.

Brighton have looked comfortable in possession despite their numerical disadvantage, but Cardiff have discernibly been lifted.

Well that was something wasn't it?

It was all going swimmingly for Brighton when Lewis Dunk headed home his second goal in as many games, and having kept a 1-0 scoreline in three of their last four, it would have taken a brave person to predict them not doing so again.

But it is a weekend for us to appreciate brave men and women and following Calum Paterson's equaliser, Dale Stephens saw red for a challenge on Cunningham.

All to play for in what has been a tenacious affair so far.

We're back underway in the Welsh capital. Will the red card push the hosts on to victory?

Few misplaced passes at the start of the half but Cardiff are noticeably playing at a higher tempo than their opponents.

Kadeem Harris appears to be the Bluebirds' best outlet, and has given Montoya plenty to think about so far as he whips in another ball which this time is claimed by Ryan.

Cardiff are probing but it is clear they are not used to this role of enjoying the majority of the possession. Their best chances still seem to be coming from set plays, this time Gunnarsson's long throw, which Sean Morrison nods on but Joe Ralls fails to connect with.

The Cardiff captain seems to have taken a blow in the immediate aftermath of that period of play, but he is back on his feet.

That was so nearly magical from Harris on his first Premier League start. He receives the ball from Gunnarsson and goes for a curling effort from 25 yards that comes back off the bar!

Brighton get away with one then. Glenn Murray waits for Ryan to come and claim the bouncing ball but Paterson shows endeavour and gets round him but can only poke the ball at the Australian. The referee however saves Murray's blushes by awarding a foul, before the forward is replaced by Florin Androne.
