From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. This is one few of us would have predicted at the start of the season. Seventh-placed Tottenham travel to Turf Moor looking to overhaul Sean Dyche's Burnley in sixth and keep alive their top-four hopes. Stick around as we bring you all the latest action.
53' - Johann Berg Gudmundsson's corner reaches Ben Mee, who takes a touch before slicing a poor shot well wide of Hugo Lloris' far post.
56' - What. A. Miss.
Serge Aurier breaks the offside trap before putting the ball on a plate for Son Heung-min. With only Nick Pope to beat he blasts the ball well over the crossbar from just 12 yards out. Woeful.
59' - That's more really sloppy attacking play by Spurs.
Harry Kane has the simplest of square balls to put Christian Eriksen through one-on-one with Nick Pope but the striker overhits his pass and the attack fizzles out.
Will Tottenham end up ruing these missed chances?
66' - Burnley are beginning to up the tempo for the first time in the match. They're yet to have a single shot on target but while there's still just one goal in it, the hosts will feel they have a real chance of getting something from this game.
GOAL! Burnley 0-2 Spurs (Kane, 69)
Moussa Sissoko plays Harry Kane through on goal with the simplest of through balls and the striker makes no mistake with his finish, slotting it beyond Nick Pope to double the visitors' lead.
Sean Dyche won't be too happy with how easily his defence was split open then.
75' - Sam Vokes skips past Jan Vertonghen and runs towards goal but the striker's touch is a little too heavy and Hugo Lloris comes out to claim the ball.
GOAL! Burnley 0-3 Spurs (Kane, 79)
That's a superb goal.
Harry Kane dispossesses Johann Berg Gudmundsson on the edge of the Burnley penalty area and the ball falls to Ben Davies. He picks out Dele Alli, who in turn finds Kane, who in turn finds the back of the net with a crisp left-footed finish.
That's his 36th Premier League goal of 2017, which equals Alan Shearer's record from 1995.
