From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. 28: Josh King picks the ball up on the halfway line and with a driving run bursts though several challenges before Ryan Bertrand brings him down on the edge of the box. Bournemouth have a free kick about 30 yards out, slightly to the right.

29: Junior Stanislas takes the free kick and hits the wall. Bournemouth win back possession and win a corner.

Dive!

30: Well this is a big call. Adam Smith is booked by Jon Moss for diving in the bx but the Bournemouth players and fans are furious. Sofiane Boufal slides in on Smith as he knocks the ball away from him in the box, replays show there was slight contact made in the challenge but there's also a case to say Smith exaggerated his fall.

32: James Ward-Prowse delivers a great ball to Charlie Austin who forces a save from a volley. The ball falls to Dusan Tadic who fires a shot which is deflected for a corner. Southampton want a penalty for handball on the block but they have to settle for a corner.

Well Eddie Howe said before the game he expected a fast start to this game. It's taken its time but things are really hotting up now.

38: My word. The ball falls to Charlie Daniels in a similar area to where he scored that amazing goal against Manchester City. In a similar fashion, he winds up his left foot and cuts across the ball with his strike but his effort flies just wide.

GOAL!

Bournemouth 1-0 Southampton

Wesley Hoedt faffs around on the ball and is dispossessed by Josh King who finds Andrew Surman on the edge of the box and he slips it to Ryan Fraser who fires in the opener inside the box.

44: Ryan Bertrand drives forward on the left and pulls the ball back to Sofiane Boufal who lets fly from the penalty spot but blasts the ball well over the goal.

Half time

Ryan Fraser's goal is the difference at the break.

So, dive or no dive? Adam Smith was booked for simulation by Jon Moss when he went down inside the Southampton box under Sofiane Boufal's sliding challenge.
