Arsenal fell to a 2-1 defeat against Barcelona in the annual Joan Gamper Trophy friendly after an impressive display derailed by familiar defensive lapses.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave the Gunners the lead in the first half after turning Jordi Alba before thumping past Neto.

However, Unai Emery's side were pegged back by a calamitous own goal by Ainsley Maitland-Niles who, under little pressure, passed beyond Bern Leno into the far corner of the net before Luis Suarez stole in to score a disheartening stoppage-time winner. Relive all the action live below:

Barcelona 0 - 0 Arsenal

It's Barca's turn to play some flowing football, they work it to Griezmann who fancies himself. He controls a ball into the box but scuffs it out for a throw in.

Semedo gets the better of Monreal, this has been a good battle on the right. The ball comes to Dembele who shoots. Joe Willock blocks it with a sliding challenge and Barca win a corner.

Bernd Leno in the action this time as he's forced into a low save to palm away a low shot from the edge of the box.

Maitland-Niles works his magic for Arsenal, twice he gets into crossing positions from the right, the first ball sails over everyone and the second is stopped by Neto but Arsenal are challenging.

Another save for Leno, Jordi Alba skips inside past Maitland-NIles and lets rip at the Arsenal goalkeeper who palms it away.

Good footwork from Griezmann in the area who turns with the ball, but can't get a shot away. Barca have a corner as the ball deflects off an Arsenal defender. It comes in but Leno claims it.

Barcelona 0 - 1 Arsenal - Aubameyang

36 mins: GOAL! Arsenal have the lead!

Aubameyang creates a touch of space for himself as he leaves Jordi Alba turning on his heels before he thumps a shot past Neto. Great goal.

Mesut Ozil should be given some credit as well, his pass up to Aubameyang was beautiful, just when Barca looked settled Arsenal pull one out of the bag.

Barcelona 0 - 1 Arsenal

Arsenal have been good since the goal. Barca have come at them but their defence has been solid and disciplined.

Barcelona 0 - 1 Arsenal

Just as I say that Rakitic skills one of the Arsenal players and slides through a ball for Griezmann, who gets a touch ahead of Leno and sees the ball bounce into the net.

The flag is up for offside, though, and it won't count. It's a reprieve for Arsenal.
