From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Unai Emery's side trailed 2-1 at the break after Eric Dier's header and Harry Kane's penalty had stunned the hosts, who had themselves gone in front from the spot via Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But they got a deserved win with three unanswered second-half goals, the first a pearler from Aubameyang and then a deflected Alexandre Lacazette strike before Lucas Torreira's late goal sealed the win.

Player to watch…
Christian Eriksen: The Dane is not letting the uncertainty around his future at the club come in the way of his performances. He grabbed an assist and was the mastermind once again in Tottenham’s convincing victory over Chelsea, before coming off the bench to score the late winner against Inter to ensure Spurs remain alive in the race for progression into the Champions League knockout stages.

By the way, in the midst of the drama, I failed to explain what happened in the aftermath of Spurs' equaliser.
Dier shushed the Arsenal fans after his goal and Liechsteiner seemed to take offence along with some of the other Arsenal substitutes.
The whole matter kicked off far quicker than it should've done and Mauricio Pochettino sprinted down the touchline trying to stop them.
Dier got booked in the melee but it was probably due to Arsenal frustration more than anything.
I said they needed a second goal when on top....
36 mins: Mustafi booked for a high tackle on Son.
What an incredible game of football. Breathless.
42 mins:
Finally, a moment or two to breathe where the raft of chances, cards and action has slowed down.
Spurs are more than happy to take this lead into the break and Arsenal are struggling to recapture their first 20 minutes.
43 mins: WHAT DO I KNOW!?
Sensational flowing stuff from Arsenal but their eagerness costs them at the end.
Kolasinac swings the ball in from the left-hand side but Aubameyang does not time his run to perfection, instead showing too much enthusiasm, making himself offside.
He should score anyway but Lloris makes the smashing save.
Wouldn't have counted anyway.
44 mins: Arsenal work a corner short and win another one.
THREE MINUTES added.
45+1 mins:
Aubameyang wins the header at the back post and puts it back towards Mustafi who's overhead kick goes high over the bar.
He claims for a corner but none given.
CHANCE!
Mustafi's looping header after Arsenal's short corner is heading towards the top corner slowly but a combination of Hugo Lloris and the crossbar sees the ball stay out.
HALF TIME! ARSENAL 1-2 TOTTENHAM
This has surely been the best half of Premier League football that's been seen this season.
Absolte carnage from start to finish saw Arsenal take the lead courtesy of Aubamyeang's penalty and they continued to lay siege on Spurs' goal and should've made it 2-0.
That's not how football works though and Spurs hit back out of nowhere with Eriksen's free-kick headed in by Eric Dier (even though Leno will have expected to do better).
That's when the chaos really started as Spurs' celebrations caused a storm with players from both sides involved in a melee.
It must've affected Arsenal though as moments later a rash tackle from Holding meant that Kane had the chance to make it 2-1 from the spot and he didn't disappoint.
Arsenal picked up again at the end of the half but it'll be interesting to see how the second half shapes up.
