From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

5' - Lively start to this match from both teams. No clear chances yet but both sets of players are playing with really high intensity.
8' - Kieran Trippier whips a teasing cross in towards Son Heung-min in the box but Andreas Christensen makes a good defensive header to put the ball out for a corner, which comes to nothing for the visitors.

Christian Eriksen picks Dele Alli out in the box with a wonderful cross but the Spurs midfielder puts his header wide from just six yards out.
That should have been the opening goal.

19' - GOAAAAAA... no.
Marcos Alonso volleys the ball home from N'Golo Kante's cross but the offside flag is up against the Spaniard and the goal won't count.
25' - Tottenham's Kieran Trippier tries his luck from 20 yards but the full-back doesn't connect well with the shot and the ball flies harmlessly wide.
