From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Arsenal thrashed Huddersfield Town 5-0 on Wednesday as a second-half onslaught helped to maintain their 100 percent home record in the Premier League this season.

Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil were on target as Arsenal scored three times in four minutes after the break to gallop away from a Huddersfield side who had recovered well having fallen behind to Alexandre Lacazette's early opener.

Olivier Giroud came off the bench to score twice as Arsenal remained in fourth place, 12 points behind leaders Manchester City and two ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool.

The margin of victory flattered Arsenal, although the quality of their finishing was sublime.

"The last 20 minutes became comfortable but I would say Huddersfield did fight very well," manager Arsene Wenger said.

31' - Stoke have a penalty shout for a push on Peter Crouch by Dejan Lovren but referee Martin Atkinson waves play on. That probably would've been a soft one, to be fair.

Half-time scores from the 7.45pm kick-offs

  • Arsenal 1-0 Huddersfield
  • Bournemouth 0-1 Burnley
  • Chelsea 0-0 Swansea

39' - Chance! Dominic Solanke plays a neat one-two with Roberto Firmino on the edge of the Stoke penalty area to manufacture a good shooting opportunity. The youngster lets fly but Lee Grant makes a good save down to his right.

40' - Simon Mignolet is a very lucky man to still be on the pitch. As Liverpool's last line of defence he fells Mame Biram Diouf on the edge of the Reds' penalty area but is only shown a yellow card by Martin Atkinson.

Diouf would've had a tap-in had he not been taken down.

Xherdan Shaqiri takes the free-kick but his effort deflects off the wall and behind for a corner, which eventually comes to nothing.

43' - Off the post! Sadio Mane gets in behind the Stoke defence and has all the time in the world to pick his spot from inside the Potters' penalty area. However, he almost takes too long before placing his shot across Lee Grant and out for a goal-kick via the goalkeeper's far post. Huge chance.

45' - A minute of additional time to come.

Half-time - Stoke 0-1 Liverpool

Martin Atkinson brings a close to the opening period and Liverpool lead 1-0 courtesy of Sadio Mane's opener. The visitors are lucky to still have 11 men on the pitch though after Simon Mignolet's last-man challenge denied Mame Biram-Diouf a clear goal-scoring opportunity on the edge of the Reds' penalty area.
