From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Arsenal have been handed a difficult start to the 2016/17 Premier League season as they welcome Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium, having once again been awarded a home tie to kick-off the new campaign.
The Gunners actually played Liverpool in the opening fixture of the 2010/11 season, with the teams drawing 1-1, and with both sides already moving to strengthen their squads in the transfer window, it could be one of the most exciting curtain-raisers in recent memory.
As if that wasn't hard enough for Arsenal, they then face a trip to the King Power Stadium to take on reigning Premier League champions Leicester City.
The match could well be a controversial one, given Arsenal have made a £20m offer for Leicester striker Jamie Vardy to activate his buy-out clause. The England striker is not expected to make a decision until he returns from Euro 2016.
