Needing to defeat Bournemouth to claim their place in the top-flight next season things looked bad for the Toffees as the visitors took the early initiative at Goodison Park.
At the King Power Stadium, Harvey Barnes gave Leicester the lead over West Ham with Leeds falling behind to Tottenham up at Elland Road. That was how things stood at half-time with the Foxes out of the relegation zone and Everton in trouble.
The second half began and Leeds fell further behind Spurs effectively putting them out of the battle. Leicester extended their lead over the Hammers to gain control of their and Everton continued to struggle.
Then, Abdoulaye Doucoure received the ball on the edge of the box and smoked home a wonderful strike to put Everton in front. Sean Dyche’s men lasted through 10 minutes of stoppage to collect their three points and clinch their place in the top-flight.

Leicester vs West Ham
West Ham have lost their final league match in just one of the last six campaigns, winning four and drawing once. Are they going to doom Leicester to relegation this afternoon?
Leeds vs Tottenham
Leeds have failed to win a home match this season against sides currently in the top half of the table, drawing four games and losing five.
They face Spurs today who are eighth.
Everton vs Bournemouth
Everton have twice previously avoided relegation on the final day of a Premier League season - in 1993/94 and in 1997/98. Will they avoid relegation for a third time today?
Leicester vs West Ham
Leicester have won their final league fixture in just one of the last seven seasons (three draws, three defeats), although that was a 4-1 victory at home to Southampton last season.
Leeds vs Tottenham
Leeds have conceded a league-high 74 goals this season and shipped 153 top-flight goals since the start of last term, more than any other side across the five top European leagues.
Everton vs Bournemouth
Everton have not been relegated from the top flight since 1950/51. Only Arsenal have had a longer active run in the top flight than the Toffees, who have been in it since 1954/55.

Sam Allardyce said Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani was “hugely frustrated and disappointed” as the club stand on the brink of relegation.
The Premier League concludes on Sunday and Leeds must beat Tottenham at Elland Road while hoping relegation rivals Everton and Leicester both drop points in their final games.
Majority shareholder Radrizzani boldly declared last summer that another relegation battle was “impossible” after Leeds had survived on the final day with victory at Brentford.

Leicester vs West Ham
Leicester City captain Jonny Evans is available after he was forced off with cramp in the draw at Newcastle. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Ricardo Pereira also return after recovering injuires of their own but Wilfred Ndidi has not trained this week because of a hamstring injury.
West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd has shaken off a dead leg and is available though full-back Emerson is struggling with a knee problem while striker Gianluca Scamacca is still in recovery.
Leeds vs Tottenham
Leeds United top scorer Rodrigo injured his foot in last weekend’s defeat by West Ham but should be okay to play. Junior Firpo returns from a one-match ban but Patrick Bamford is still a doubt with a hamstring issue.
Tottenham defender Cristian Romero has been ruled out after picking up an injury in the loss at Aston Villa. Midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg should be available but defender Eric Dier has undergone groin surgery this week and won’t be back before pre-season.
Everton vs Bournemouth
Everton are without Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Nathan Patterson, who both sustained hamstring injuries in last weekend’s draw at Wolves.
Amadou Onana is fit and in contention to start but Vitaly Mykolenko will have a late fitness test.
Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing is sure to be involved after recovering from a back problem while Hamed Traore’s foot injury will be assessed and a late call will be made on midfielder Joe Rothwell.
