Jean-Ricner Bellegarde’s stunning strike earned Wolverhampton Wanderers their first point of the Premier League season with a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.
In a frantic start to the game, New Zealand striker Chris Wood headed the hosts into a 10th-minute lead from a corner, having been left completely unmarked in the penalty area.
Bellegarde issued an immediate response, however, lashing home a sensational hit two minutes later.
Both sides failed to really create clearcut chances to snatch all three points as Forest remained unbeaten this season.

OFFSIDE! Wood appeared to have won it late on for Forest. A corner from Elanga caused the hosts all sorts of problems and the ball bounced around the penalty area before falling to the edge of the six-yard box. Wood swivelled and place his right footed effort into the far corner of the goal but the linesman had his flag up rightfully as the New Zealander had been in an offside position when the ball was played towards him.

Incredibly worrying scenes for Wolves and their fans as their captain Lemina went down awkwardly after clearing the ball for a corner from a cross by Williams from the right hand side. Appearing to get his leg caught in the turf. Painful.

Williams blasted over the bar from wide right in the Wolves penalty area after a pin point accurate cross from the left hand side of the box by Sosa, getting involved immediately after being introduced.

Wolves and O’Neil are incensed as they have been denied a penalty for handball. Wood was focused on his task of marking Dawson, not looking at the ball and as he did this his arm, in an unnatural position stopped the cross reaching the Wolves player. O’Neil received a yellow card for his protests from the referee. The visitors can feel hard done by with that decision as they have been given.

Wood again asking questions. The striker was unable to met Elanga’s cross sweetly to trouble the Wolves keeper. His volley on target from the penalty spot, but caught by Johnstone, never really troubling him.

CUNHA! Almost a spectacular effort. The forward was still positioned wide after taking a corner and as the ball was played wide to him from a packed area on the outside of the Forest penalty area he struck his shot first time. The ball curled towards goal and had everyone’s watching it move towards goal. But to the City Grounds relief it didn’t come inside the post and flashed wide.

FANTASTIC SAVE! Johnstone managed to move back across his goal to get a strong right hand to the ball to deny Woods his and Forest’s second goal of the game. The striker rose above the challenging defender to direct his header back towards where it came from after a delightful scoop pass by Gibbs-White. Score remains level.
