Record signing Alexander Isak was handed a rare start as Newcastle attempted to revive their Premier League campaign against Wolves. The Sweden international was included as one of five changes to the team which lost 2-0 at Manchester City last weekend with he, Fabian Schar after concussion, Joe Willock, Jacob Murphy and Allan Saint-Maximin replacing Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, the suspended Joelinton, Anthony Gordon and Miguel Almiron.
Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui made four changes as Joao Moutinho, Adama Traore, Daniel Podence and Raul Jimenez came in for Pablo Sarabia, Matheus Nunes, Pedro Neto and the injured Diego Costa.
