Newcastle v Tottenham LIVE: Result and final score from Premier League after Alexander Isak restores lead

Newcastle lead Tottenham at the break here in the North East, thanks to a well-taken Harvey Barnes goal. We've seen a relatively open first half so far, and before the officials' changed around due to Ian Hussin's quad injury, Tottenham thought they had the lead. However, Cristian Romero's 12th minute header was ruled out for offside. Following this, Pape Matar Sarr forced Nick Pope into work twice, yet the hosts stayed in it, and, somewhat against the run of play - took the lead in the 37th minute. Lloyd Kelly benefitted from Spurs switching off at a throw and he crossed nicely from the left for Barnes to side-foot home from the centre of the box. With the goal, Barnes has scored in back-to-back Premier League starts for the first time since November 2022 for Leicester City.

HALF-TIME: NEWCASTLE UNITED 1-0 TOTTENHAM

Maddison is down after the challenge of Burn in the area. It's initially given as a goal-kick. In truth, it did look as if Maddison got his foot stomped on inadvertently.

It's been open at times, this half, but now we're seeing a bit of a scrappy end. Hopefully the second period goes up to the levels we saw before the officials' stoppage.

Postecoglou is undoubtedly unhappy about the simple concession of that goal. His side need to play up, or can expect a talking to at the break!
