Manchester United vs West Ham LIVE: Premier League score and result after Alejandro Garnacho double
Manchester United beat West Ham in the Premier League
Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho netted twice after Rasmus Hojlund scored on his 21st birthday as the Old Trafford side beat West Ham United 3-0 to climb above the visitors into sixth place in the Premier League on Sunday.
On the heels of a 4-3 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday, Erik ten Hag’s team now have 38 points after 23 games, eight adrift of fourth spot. The Hammers are seventh with 36.
Hojlund scored in the 23rd minute when Casemiro prodded the ball forward after West Ham failed to clear a high ball. The Dane knocked the ball past a couple of defenders before firing home from the centre of the box into the bottom corner.
Hojlund, who did not score his first league goal until Dec. 26, became the youngest player in the Old Trafford team’s history to score in four consecutive Premier League appearances.
Garnacho doubled the lead in the 49th after his shot from the corner of the box took a big deflection to send substitute goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski the wrong way.
The Argentine netted his second in the 84th after Kalvin Phillips lost the ball and Scott McTominay pounced, finding Garnacho in the box.

Moyes makes two alterations from his team's last outing, a 1-1 draw at home to Bournemouth. Phillips endured a poor start to his West Ham career having joined on loan from Manchester City, gifting a goal to Dominic Solanke just three minutes in, and he is dropped to the bench as Coufal comes in. Aguerd for Mavropanos is the other change.

Erik ten Hag makes just the one change from the topsy-turvy win over Wolves, as Maguire comes in for Varane at centre-back. Amrabat is back from the Africa Cup of Nations and returns to the bench, while Mainoo, who scored the winner at Molineux, retains his place in midfield.

In contrast to their hosts' form, the Hammers are five without a win in all competitions, though four of these have been draws. After a strong start to the season, David Moyes will be desperate for his side to get back to winning ways and revive their charge for the European places come the end of the season.

A thrilling 4-3 win over Wolves in midweek made it four unbeaten for United in all competitions, and while they are currently eighth in the Premier League, another victory here would see them leapfrog Brighton, as well as their opponents West Ham, into sixth.
