Manchester United made two changes for Sunday’s Premier League match against rock-bottom Southampton. Jadon Sancho and Aaron Wan-Bissaka came in for Fred and Diogo Dalot following Thursday’s 4-1 win against Real Betis in the Europa League.
Charly Alcaraz was passed fit to start for Southampton, who made one alteration as Romain Perraud replaced Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Ten Hag makes two changes to the United side which started Thursday's win over Betis – as well as last week's rout at Liverpool. Fred and Dalot are the men to make way, with Wan-Bissaka coming in for his 100th Premier League appearance for United at right-back. The other player brought in is Sancho, with Fernandes likely to occupy a deeper position alongside Casemiro.

Ruben Selles' team are bottom and three points behind 17th-placed Bournemouth after the Cherries' shock victory over Liverpool. Saints did claim a vital 1-0 win over Leicester City last time out – their second in three league games under Selles – so perhaps they should not be written off just yet.

United responded to their humiliating 7-0 defeat at Liverpool in fine fashion on Thursday, hammering Real Betis 4-1 to claim the advantage in their Europa League last-16 tie. Erik ten Hag's men turn their attentions back to league action here, knowing a win over Saints would take them four points clear of fourth-placed Tottenham – and seven ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool.
