Arsenal ensured that the Premier League title race will go down to the final day after a fine victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

With Manchester City defeating Fulham yesterday, Arsenal knew they needed to collect all three points and came out of the gate in full flow. United were pinned back as the Gunners imposed themselves on the game.

The breakthrough though came from a Casemiro error. Positioning himself to play out from the back, Andre Onana instead went long and gave the ball to Arsenal. Kai Havertz was sent down the right, with Casemiro now playing him onside, before cutting the ball into the box. Leandro Trossard arrived from the opposite wing and tapped home.

That goal was all Arsenal needed. Their ever-impressive defence nullified United’s young forward line kept them at bay and earned a clean sheet without heading out of second gear. Mikel Arteta gets a well-deserved win at Old Trafford and may just end his season with a Premier League title.

Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

78 mins: There are a lot of Arsenal supporters now standing with thoughtful looks on their faces. When the teams met earlier in the season it took a couple of late goals for the Gunners to secure the three points. Will it be the same here?

Gabriel Martinelli dances into the box from the left wing and strikes one only for Andre Onana to stick out his left hand and tip the ball over the crossbar.

75 mins: Casemiro’s cross field pass comes over to Antony who leaps into Takehiro Tomiyasu as the duo both challenge for the same ball.

72 mins: Erik ten Hag will not be pleased as Amad Diallo goes to ground and signals to the bench that he needs to come off. It’s another injury in a growing list for United.

Antony is called on to replace him and takes a shot with his first real involvement in the game. David Raya keeps it out without too much fuss.

Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

69 mins: Mikel Arteta heads to the bench first. Gabriel Martinelli is brought onto the pitch to replace Leandro Trossard whose opening goal is still the only difference between the teams.

Martinelli should bring some extra pace for the Gunners as they look to get the ball higher up the pitch.

Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

66 mins: The momentum of the game is swinging. Arsenal don’t yet look in trouble but they’ve certainly entered the realm of uncomfortable.

Only on a few occasions have the Gunners been able to transition into an effective attack with the best coming to Martin Odegaard who curls a shot into the arms of Andre Onana.

For their part, United are putting more men up the pitch and getting the ball into dangerous areas. They haven’t managed to create a good chance to equalise though.

Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

63 mins: Garnacho looks the biggest threat to Arsenal. White and Saka look to take the ball off him but get their positions wrong and allow the Argentine to cut inside.

He attempts a difficult curling shot to the far top corner but miscues it and sends the effort well wide.

Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

60 mins: A corner for Arsenal results in Saka pinging a cross onto the head of William Saliba. He leaps and nods the ball towards goal but his effort is always going too high and Andre Onana watches it head over the crossbar.

At the other end of the pitch, Alejandro Garnacho gets in behind Ben White and drives into the penalty area. Saliba holds his ground, waits for his moment and then tackles the teenager to recover possession.

Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

57 mins: Oh! From nothing Arsenal burst into life around the penalty area. Declan Rice has a shot blocked by Aaron Wan-Bissaka before combining with Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard to keep the attack alive.

Trossard shoots from the left side of the box but United’s scrambling defence keeps the ball out and turns it away.

Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

54 mins: Certainly since the goal was scored Arsenal haven’t really done a lot. They probably back themselves to keep Manchester United out but there is a growing confidence in the home team.

Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal

51 mins: Garnacho takes on White once again and manages to get a touch of space to cross the ball into the penalty area. Hojlund is tied up by Saliba but McTominay fails to react to the cross and it sails over every’s head before Arsenal regain possession.
