Erling Haaland struck a late winner against his former club as Manchester City came from behind to snatch a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund.

The prolific Norwegian was kept quiet by his old team-mates for much of a cagey Champions League encounter at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday but clinically volleyed in six minutes from time.

England international Jude Bellingham had given Dortmund a surprise lead after the break but City levelled with a stunning strike from John Stones 10 minutes from time.

Haaland, who scored a remarkable 86 goals in 89 appearances for Dortmund before leaving in the summer, then struck his 13th in nine for his new club having earlier hit the post. The victory gave City the outright lead in Group G ahead of back-to-back games against Copenhagen.

Relive all the action as Man City beat Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stages:

Second half: Man City 0-0 Dortmund

Pep Guardiola will certainly be thinking about changes. Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva are on the bench and could provide another dimension to the attack.

Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish have both been a bit toothless so far.

Half-time: Man City 0-0 Dortmund

45 mins: Nothing to separate the teams then at the break.

This one hasn’t exactly been a thriller. Like many Man City matches it feels as though we’re waiting for some magic to break down a solid defence or a mistake from the host to allow Dortmund in on goal.

There are problems to solve for Pep Guardiola. How does he break this deadlock?

Man City 0-0 Dortmund

27 mins: Joao Cancelo lines up a powerful shot from outside the box after receiving the ball from Jack Grealish. His accuracy is off though and he ends up belting it well wide of goal.

Man City are struggling to break Dortmund down. The German side look well drilled at the back.
