Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Luton Town vs Brentford
A rather ruthless Brentford ran away with this one at Kenilworth Road 5-1, and now find themselves a good way towards being safe in the Premier League for yet another season. For Luton Town, this poor performance at home leaves them with some slimmer survival hopes. The Hatters saw solid build-up in the first half, yet just missed that final ball. Wissa punished this and opened the scoring in the 24th minute with mercurial class as he found the top right corner after being fed in by Mbeumo. The second goal was a little less impressive just before the break, and followed some gangly defending from Burke who failed to clear an Mbeumo cut back. Luton looked to react strongly, yet again just couldn’t get anything concrete going until late on. Before that, they faced a real onslaught as Brentford took advantage of space and time afforded to them. The third came after the hour with Pinnock’s smart (albeit unmarked) header. The fourth came just two minutes later as Luton collapsed with Mbeumo crossing for a free Lewis-Potter at the back left post. Number five arrived four minutes from time, as Schade put it into trouncing territory. Berry grabbed one back after a Janelt mistake, yet with four games to go - it’s a meagre offering in comparison to the Hatters’ survival aspirations. Edwards’ men admittedly still remain in the mix, with attention turning to their next game away at Wolves. In the meantime, eyes will certainly be glued to tomorrow’s clash between Everton and Nottingham Forest for a little help going into a tense finale at the foot of the table. On the contrary, Brentford ready themselves for a trip to Everton next Saturday. Thank you for joining us this afternoon, goodbye!

Maupay hits a speculative free-kick over as the last kick of the game. That's it, finally Luton can get retreat to the drawing board. That was quite something...
Luton Town vs Brentford
Although Luton have been truly pummeled here, mainly in large part to the ever-spritely Mbeumo - this late goal continues their scoring trend in the final knockings. Luton have now scored 19 goals in the last 15 minutes of the second half, only Liverpool (27) have scored more in the English Premier League this season.
