Tottenham went top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win at Luton Town on Saturday, despite playing the whole of the second half with 10 men.
Dutch defender Micky van de Ven scored the only goal of the game in the 52nd minute when he poked home a first-time shot after a cut back from James Maddison following a Spurs short corner move.
Spurs remain unbeaten after eight league games, and are now two points clear of Manchester City and three ahead of Arsenal, before those two sides meet on Sunday. Luton remain on four points.
The visitors had Yves Bissouma sent off in added time at the end of the first half, receiving a second booking for a dive outside the Luton area, but went on to break the deadlock early in the second-half to eventually claim all three points.
Luton missed some clear chances to take something from the game having weathered an early Spurs storm, but fell to their sixth league defeat of the season.

12 shots to three having generated 1.72 xG shows just how freely Spurs have attacked in the first half, but with a zero in the goal column, and without Bissouma for the second half, Ange Postecoglou's side need to find a breakthrough and put this game to bed sharpish.

It's all square at the break, with the hosts holding on despite a plethora of Tottenham chances! Kaminski has made saves from Richarlison, Son and Kulusevski, with the former, Porro and Maddison also firing wide as Spurs laid siege to the Luton box at times! The Hatters haven't been without chances of their own though, and saw a scrappy Lockyer goal disallowed thanks to a foul on Romero. Luton will have renewed confidence going in to the second half too, not only having kept Spurs at bay so far, but also facing a side down to 10 men after Bissouma received a second yellow card late in the first.

CHANCE!!! Richarlison's low cross into the box is collected by Son, who then tees up Maddison from the edge of the box. The England playmaker has time to pick his spot, but blazes a curling effort wide of the mark!

We're into three additional minutes at Kenilworth Road as Spurs continue to chase that all-important opening goal!

Andersen concedes a corner as he steps in to cut out a Richarlison chance, but Maddison's delivery from the set-piece is headed clear at the front post by Burke!

Tottenham have had more shots than any other Premier League side this season (138), with their average of 19.7 shots per game their highest on record in a single campaign. They've had at least 20 efforts in three of their last four league games, as many times as they had done in their previous 28, and so far at Kenilworth Road, Spurs have managed to fire off 11 already!

Both Lockyer and Morris picked up knocks to the head during that sequence of play, and as they're assessed on the touchline, Luton are down to just nine players for the moment!
