81 mins: Save! Jota has the ball in the box and slots it to the right for Firmino. He dinks it into the six-yard area towards Mane but the ball is headed down into the path of Jota. He smokes a shot at goal but Hayden and Dubravka get behind it and keep it out!

78 mins: Javier Manquillo heads the ball out for yet another Liverpool corner and Eddie Howe takes the opportunity to make a change. Allan Saint-Maximin is off, Callum Wilson is on.

Alexander-Arnold’s corner ball comes swinging into the middle of the box but Joelinton is up highest and heads the ball clear.

75 mins: Mo Salah is taken off by Jurgen Klopp and Roberto Firmino comes on to replace him. Oxlade-Chamberlain is also hooked with Naby Keita coming on.

Liverpool win a corner that Robertson curls into the middle. Firmino is in the mix but the ball hits him and goes wide.

72 mins: Alexander-Arnold passes the ball into the box to Salah who dinks it wide for Oxlade-Chamberlain. He bobbles a decent pass into the six-yrd box but no-one anticipates that pass and Dubravka claims the loose ball.

69 mins: A long ball over the top is won by Matip who knocks the ball down to Fraser. He carries it towards the Liverpool box but Henderson comes flying back to win the ball and fouls the Newcastle man. He goes in the book and the Magpies have a free kick in a dnagerous area.

Jonjo Shelvey takes it and whips a fine shot towards the top corner. Alisson comes flying across and watches it go wide of the near post.

66 mins: Henderson pumps a long ball over to Salah on the right wing. He does well to bring the ball iunder control and hold off Ritchie long enough to slide a pass to Oxlade-Chamberlain. Oxlade-Chamberlain drives into the box and fires a shot towards goal but belts it high over the crossbar.

63 mins: Last ditch stuff from Alexander-Arnold. The ball comes into the box from the right side and Alexander-Arnold gets there just in time. He pokes the ball away and brings down Fraser in the process. The referee says no penalty and VAR doesn’t overturn the decision even though he looked at it for a while.

60 mins: Murphy takes a shot from range and curls it wide of the post for Newcastle. It’s only their thrid shot of the game, such has been Liverpool’s dominance.

Robertson slides a through ball into the box for Mane who collects the ball and shoots but the offside flag goes up against him.

57 mins: Chance! Fraser stops a counter-attack by taking out Oxlade-Chamberlain and picking up a yellow card. Alexander-Arnold floats the free kick over to the back post where Mane pops up to head the ball into the six-yard box. Jota is left with a tap-in but Dubravka leaps forward and clings on to the ball before it reaches the Liverpool goalscorer.

54 mins: Liverpool seem to be toying with Newcastle as they maintain possession. Henderson, Thiago and Alexander-Arnold pass the ball between themselves trying to draw the Magpies out of shape but they hold firm. Henderson flicks a cross over to Salah who brings it inside and backheels a pass to Alexander-Arnold. The pass comes up short though and Fraser gets there first. He holds it up well and wins a free kick as the Liverpool right-back attempts to recover the ball.
